Guided walk crossing the Cairngorm mountains through the Lairig Ghru
Book nowThe Lairig Ghru is the best known hill-pass in Scotland. It climbs to an altitude of 835 metres and crosses through the central Cairngorms, one of the wildest areas in the country, a true classic walk.
This walk can take 8-10 hours and requires a good level of hill fitness and stamina.
For centuries the Lairig Ghru has been used as a means of traversing the high arctic Cairngorm plateau, splitting as it does between the high points of Ben Macdui and Braeriach. Follow in the footsteps of Highland cattle raiders and drovers as we enjoy one of Scotlands finest trails.
The route is 32km long and includes around 600 meters of ascent taking in some of the most inaccessible hiking trails in the UK
For this point-to-point crossing of the Lairig Ghru you will run with a small team (Max 8.) and experienced guides.
The price includes a morning transfer from Aviemore to the Linn of Dee where we will start our walk back north.
