The last of 2018! #winterskills #wintermountaineering #winterclimbing #cairngorms

29th December 2018

Here are some photos from before Christmas when it was a lot more wintry on the mountains. We had six different teams on winter skills, mountaineering and climbing courses. All the teams did really well and made the most of some very good early season conditions.

Sadly it's been a bit warm over the festive period, which has stripped away a lot of the snow cover. The forecast is turning cold after the new year, so fingers crossed it gets good again.

Happy new year when it comes.

Winter courses

I would definitely recommend using them for navigation skills. I booked A1 day course. Communication with Dave before the course was good as well.. Dave or guide was very friendly and welcoming and made us feel at ease. Explaining what was going to happen in the day and asked us too what we would like to get out of the course. Dave was great at explaining and giving instruction and I actually surprised myself that I manahed to correctly follow them too. . When I'm ready to go in to the next level of navigation. Cairngorm Adventure Guides will be my first go to to find a course. A great day and I don't feel so useless at using a map and compass now. Woo hoo!
