Last of winter courses for 2017! #winterskills #ski touring #climbing #courses #introduction #cairngorms #Scotland

29th March 2017

Whilst the recent weather has been great and hopefully a taste of what's to come this summer(!), it hasn't been great for winter mountaineering lovers. That said, hill walking conditions have been lovely and the existing snowpack offers excellent cramponing and climbing in the easier, complete gullies.

It's been another great season for us (depsite the challenging conditions). This is because of our great clients and excellent team of guides.

The lambing snows can't be far away, but for us we're looking forward to lots of summer adventures now.

Here are a few snaps of how the last week has looked.

Winter courses

I would definitely recommend using them for navigation skills. I booked A1 day course. Communication with Dave before the course was good as well.. Dave or guide was very friendly and welcoming and made us feel at ease. Explaining what was going to happen in the day and asked us too what we would like to get out of the course. Dave was great at explaining and giving instruction and I actually surprised myself that I manahed to correctly follow them too. . When I'm ready to go in to the next level of navigation. Cairngorm Adventure Guides will be my first go to to find a course. A great day and I don't feel so useless at using a map and compass now. Woo hoo!
